First ran into Selin's account (@pitiseloti) with her beautiful interiors posts and you can see her love for nature even as someone who lives in the city she loves the shades of trees, the sun, the sea and so many elements that make her account so special but you can see that she loves this planet and it leaks from every post she makes, in a world full of vain content her content is a breath of fresh air and makes you want to sit down and have some Turkish breakfast with her with a little bit of tea, her account is like a Sunday morning in the spring time.

Who is Selin, where does the name @pitiseloti come from? Can you tell us about yourself?
Hi, Selin here. I’m 32, and I currently create content around decorating my home, and my life, with things that genuinely bring me joy. I studied and lived in different parts of the world, and after the pandemic, I moved into this house in Istanbul. I can call myself “master of none”. I’ve always been curious about a lot of different things. I studied both engineering and creative arts, and I’ve tried all kinds of creative paths along the way. I’ve always loved capturing moments, but after moving here, it slowly turned into a full-time career. And the name “Pitiseloti”: my mom used to call me “Piti” because I was tiny as a child, then my friends kind of played around with it, and somehow, with the famous “o piti piti karamela sepeti rhyme, it evolved into “Piti Piti Seloti.”
What’s your all time favourite city?
I’m not very good at picking just one favourite, but I can say I love being near the sea and close to nature. So I guess the Aegean coast would make me really happy as my next place to live. I also loved living in Sydney—the city is so close to incredible hiking routes and, of course, the ocean. You could easily fit a day in the city and a beach day into the same plan.

What does an ideal day look like to you?
Waking up for sunrise by the sea, having an early breakfast with the sound of cicadas, then going for a walk in the woods and coming back for a refreshing swim, eating some fruit and capturing all those small moments. As long as I’m with the people I love, it’s all good until the sun goes down.
We can see that you love nature, you live in the city but you have the soul of a nature lover. What is your favourite plant at the moment?
It was not an easy decision for me to move to Istanbul, and to be honest, I’ve never really felt like I fully belong here. I know that eventually I’ll move back to the Aegean coast. Since I love greenery so much, I’ve filled my place with plants, but if I had to pick one, I’d choose bamboo. I just love watching it float in water; it gives such a calming energy.

What element do you miss most of summer in the winter time?
The feeling that possibilities expand, being close enough to the sea to dip your feet in, the excitement of making spontaneous plans, that kind of weather that makes you feel more outgoing, watching sunrises and sunsets in nature, summer fruits, and always having a swimsuit and a towel in your bag - just in case.

If you were a fruit which one would you be?
Gotta say figs. As a kid, I was always picking them straight from the trees in our garden, and honestly, they taste completely different right off the branch. Those trees feel like a direct connection to my childhood, and the taste takes me back to so many places. It’s always the most exciting time when the figs start to grow, so I guess I associate them with joy and that kind of simple excitement.

Which LAR Print/product excites you the most?
My recent favorite is the Epicer pareo. I love the fruit prints on it, and I’m really excited to start wearing it. It’s also super versatile, you can style it in so many different ways.

What 3 things would you like to see more in the world?
People who encourage each other, a reality that feels worth dreaming about again, a pack of safe fruits, safe cities, and safe connections please.

What 3 things would you like to see less in the world?
Systems that prioritize their own interests while allowing others’ rights to be taken away, decisions made far from science that glorify ignorance, and the kind of blind devotion that pulls a curtain over people’s eyes, making them unable to see the damage caused by the ideas they’re so fanatic about. Honestly, so fed up with these things.
1What are you grateful for?
Honestly, most things in my life. All the steps I’ve taken, all the people who’ve come into my life, my family, the choices that shaped who I am today. Not every year was the best, and not every decision was the right one, but somehow they all came together to bring me here. So I feel grateful for all of it.

If you were to describe your vibe in one color what would it be and why?
That’s a complicated question, because I think every feeling has its own color, and my relationship with each person shifts what color they might see me as,since I’m a bit different with everyone. But if I had to choose one, I’d probably say yellow. Yellow makes me feel comfortable enough to share what’s on my mind, it gently pushes you toward the things you want to do. It has a warm energy, not as intense as orange, but still soft and light on the soul. And with summer coming, I feel like I really need more of that beautiful yellow sunlight.

If you could leave a message to the next generation what would you advise?
Take more chances. Even if you have the smallest bit of interest in something, don’t miss the chance to try it. You don’t have to be the best at it or take everything to the final stage, you can just try and see how it feels. You might discover your favorite thing, your favorite dish, or something you’d never do again, and either way, you learn something new about yourself. And also, don’t feel like you have to explain everything you do just so people around you can understand your choices.
